Lyon Maher

Lyon joined Hollyport in 2024 as Head of Tax. She will play a pivotal role in building and developing Hollyport’s tax function. Her role will focus on advising stakeholders on the tax structure of our funds, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations, and staying abreast of new tax legislative developments impacting the industry to assist with the implementation of process and procedures to address changes.

Lyon worked at Deloitte from 2012 to 2018 as a Senior Consultant before moving to Ernst & Young. Since 2019 she has worked at KPMG US Tax Services in London as a Senior Manager. Lyon studied LL.M Taxation at the University of San Diego School of Law; she speaks conversational Spanish and is level B2 Dutch.

Out of work Lyon enjoys spending time outside with her partner, 3 year old Vizsla and her 9 month old daughter.

Harriet Webb

Harriet joined Hollyport in 2022 as a Finance Analyst in the London office. She performs analysis of Hollyport’s fund data and market intel for internal and external requests. Harriet also assists the Asset Committee with internal reporting and provides portfolio insights for quarter-end presentations, regularly presenting her findings to internal stakeholders.

Harriet studied Mathematics with Statistics at King’s College, London and gained a First Class BSc. She’s currently training to be a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA).

In her spare time, Harriet enjoys trying new restaurants and sketching buildings around London, as well as playing hockey, swimming and skiing.

Andrew Hoyland

Andrew joined Hollyport in 2022 as a Fund Accountant, based in the London office. He is responsible for processing incoming financial and capital account statements and updates Hollyport’s monitors to ensure they have the latest information for each portfolio. Andrew also helps the investor relations team with queries, and works on funding papers as prospective deals move from Investment Committee through to SPA.

Andrew is currently studying for his ACCA professional accountancy exams alongside his role at Hollyport. He graduated with a Masters in Chemistry from the University of St. Andrews in 2016, which included one year working in industry in Norway. He then completed his PGCE to teach Chemistry.

Andrew has a passion for reading, theatre, and opera. He took up rugby and football at a young age and has since gone on to coach and referee both sports.

Josh Twin

Josh joined Hollyport in 2021 as a Fund Accountant in the London office. His main role is monitoring for the Hollyport funds, processing incoming financial and capital account statements and updating monitors with the latest information. Josh also works with the other functions of the business, providing fund data for internal reports.

Josh studied Accounting and Finance at the University of Surrey. He is currently studying to be a Chartered Accountant with ACCA alongside his role at Hollyport.

Outside of work, Josh is passionate about music and regularly attends concerts with friends. He also enjoys going to the gym, running, and scuba diving.

Shalini Somchand

Shalini joined Hollyport as a Fund Accountant in March 2020, based in the London office. Her role involves monitoring the performance of the Hollyport funds, processing incoming financial and capital account statements and updating monitors with the latest information. Shalini works closely with both the investment team and the investor relations team to provide data and contribute to internal papers. Shalini is currently working on her MS Excel skills and studying towards her ACCA. She’ll be fully qualified in 2024.

Shalini studied Economics at the University of Birmingham and has completed level 3 of AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians). Outside of work, Shalini enjoys travelling. She’s visited 20 different countries within Europe and would love to complete the whole continent within the next five years.

Scott Lomas

Scott is a Vice Principal in our London office, specialising in data analytics. Scott joined Hollyport in 2018 as a Fund Accountant before carving out a niche for himself in analysis – eventually creating and building the analysis function at Hollyport.

Scott is now focused on analysing internal data and leveraging external data to provide insights to the wider team. He is highly skilled in MS Excel modelling and is working on improving his data visualisation techniques.

Scott has a Masters in Chemistry and spent one year developing hydrogen fuel cell technology in Norway. He then taught mathematics for two years prior to joining Hollyport. During his time at Hollyport, Scott has successfully studied for a Bachelors in Applied Accounting, and as a fully qualified accountant with ACCA he mentors junior members of the finance team who are studying for the same exams.

Outside of the office, Scott is a grade 8 pianist and enjoys being outside in nature. His interests also include railways, classic cars, and anything old, mechanical, and oily.

Peter Adentan

Peter joined Hollyport’s London office as a Finance Associate in December 2017, and was promoted to Senior Fund Accountant in 2021. He is responsible for the management of the audit, tax, and investor reporting processes of Hollyport’s funds, and works closely with the investment team and IR team on internal projects. Peter also manages the junior finance team members to support their development at the firm.

Prior to working at Hollyport, Peter was a Finance Business Partner at Dixons Carphone, advising senior management on margin-driving activities and forecasting.

Peter studied Accounting and Finance at the University of Hertfordshire and is a CIMA-qualified Chartered Accountant. Outside of work, Peter enjoys road cycling and any fitness challenge – he’s currently preparing for his first triathlon.

Mei Chan

Mei is a Partner and leads the Finance and Compliance functions, based in the London office.

Mei joined Hollyport in 2017 as Head of Finance, where she led the growing team of fund accountants in the finance and administration activities of the investment funds, including investor reporting, fund structuring and portfolio monitoring. In addition, she served as the firm’s Compliance Officer and ESG lead working on both the investment policy as well internal initiatives.

Mei qualified as an ACA with HW Fisher & Company, and post qualification worked at Ingenious Investments where she was responsible for the financial management and reporting of their media investment funds – their largest business division with £2billion AUM at the time. Mei graduated from Glasgow University with an honours degree in Accounting and Finance.

Mei grew up in Glasgow and speaks fluent Cantonese. She has two young children and to relax, she enjoys practising yoga and watching crime documentaries.
