John has been a private equity investor since 1987, initially as a direct investor, before focusing on the secondary market from 2002. As Chief Executive of Hollyport he is responsible for all of its investment activities.

John started in private equity at 3i, where he was latterly a Director heading the London investment team with responsibility for mid-market buyout and growth capital investments. During this period he gained specific experience in the healthcare, business services and retail sectors. John was a co-founder of Hollyport in 2006.

John holds an honours degree in Engineering from University College London and worked for Unilever in his early career.

Christoph joined Hollyport in October 2017 as an Associate in the Investment Appraisal team.

Prior to joining Hollyport, Christoph worked at PwC in the Transaction Services department with a focus on Financial Due Diligence based in London and Vienna. He was involved in large-cap and cross-border transactions for both corporate and private equity clients with a special focus on the Industrial Products & Services and the Retail & Consumer sector.

Christoph holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business Economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and speaks fluent German and French.

Mei joined Hollyport in March 2017 as Head of Finance.

Mei graduated from Glasgow University with an honours degree in Accounting and Finance. Subsequently Mei qualified as an ACA with HW Fisher & Company. Post qualification, she worked at Ingenious Investments where she was responsible for the financial management and reporting of their media investment funds – their largest business division with £2billion AUM at the time.

Lucy joined Hollyport in June 2016 as an Associate, with responsibility for deal origination and investor relations.

Before joining Hollyport, Lucy was a Research Associate at Third Bridge, a global primary research firm that connects investors to critical intelligence. In this position, she worked with European Private Equity firms and management consultants throughout their due diligence process.

Lucy holds a BA (Hons) in French and Italian from University of Bristol. She is fluent in French.

Steve has been a direct private equity investor since 1997. He Joined Hollyport in December 2013 as a Partner.

Having trained as an accountant, Steve worked at SBC Warburg for 7 years before joining 3i in 1997. Steve has extensive geographic experience having lead investments across Europe and North America and directly overseen investment in Asia. As a Founding Partner of 3i Growth Capital, Steve chaired the Investment Committee and was responsible for leading 3i’s first ever growth capital fundraising of €1.2bn.

Steve holds a MBA from Cranfield School of Management.

Lama joined Hollyport in April 2015. She is an Analyst in the Investment Appraisal team.

Before joining Hollyport, Lama worked in primary research organising due diligence events for Private Equity and Hedge Fund clients at Coleman Research in London.

Lama holds a degree in Finance Accounting and Management from University of Nottingham, and an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. She is fluent in Arabic.

Ed joined Hollyport in May 2011, and is a Partner.

Ed started his career in the audit and assurance department at Deloitte, where he qualified as an ACA in the Products & Services team in London. His clients included British Land, WPP Group and the Tussauds Group. Post qualification he moved to the corporate finance department of the Dawnay, Day Group, where he specialised in private and public M&A and equity capital markets. Before joining Hollyport, he worked at Arbuthnot Securities, where he worked as a corporate financier advising public and private companies on a range of transactions.

Ed holds an honours degree in Natural Sciences from Durham University.

Carl joined Hollyport in September 2017 as an Associate in the Investment Appraisal team.

Prior to joining Hollyport, Carl was a manager in the Insurance Deals and Restructuring team at PwC, advising a range of insurers and intermediaries on M&A transactions and corporate restructuring. He provided due diligence, merger integration, regulatory capital optimisation and financial restructuring services to clients in the UK and overseas.

Carl studied in Shanghai for 2 years before graduating from Newcastle University with a degree in Business, Accounting and Finance and is ACA qualified.

Yudi Singh

Yudi joined Hollyport as a Fund Accountant in June 2016.

Prior to working at Hollyport, Yudi qualified as an ACA at Deloitte. Primarily focused on the financial services industry, his clients included some of the most globally recognisable Private Equity firms.

Post qualification he joined Barclays as part of a select intake of Finance Analysts on the Qualified Accountant Rotation Programme. Aligned to the Business Performance & Analytics team, the majority of Yudi’s time was spent within the Investment Bank focusing on forecasting and revenue analysis.

Yudi graduated with a BSc honours degree from University College London.

Prior to joining Hollyport, Nicole was a member of the M&A advisory team at Gleacher Shacklock, advising on mid-market deals across all sectors. Nicole began her career in the Consumer Business audit and assurance department at Deloitte, where she qualified as an ACA.

Catherine joined Hollyport in January 2014 as an Associate, and manages Hollyport's relationships with private equity investors considering liquidity options for their legacy assets.

Before joining Hollyport, Catherine worked in primary research and due diligence for Private Equity and Hedge Fund clients at Coleman Research in London.

Catherine holds a degree in Political Science from Queen's University, Kingston, Canada, which included a semester at Université Jean Moulin Lyon III, France, and a MSc. International Political Economy from the London School of Economics; she is fluent in French.

James joined Hollyport Capital in October 2015 as a Private Equity Associate.

James graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Accounting and Finance.

Subsequently James joined Crowe Clark Whitehill’s 3 year graduate programme. After gaining his ACA qualification James moved into the Corporate Finance team, gaining experience in Financial Due Diligence and Capital Markets.

James is ACA qualified with 1st time passes and time qualified in September 2012.

Katy joined Hollyport in June 2016 as Office Manager.

Prior to joining Hollyport, Katy worked as a PA and Office Manager in the property industry and most recently for a luxury travel company, where she also worked alongside the product team to support supplier relations for Italy.

Katy holds a degree in Italian from the University of Bristol, which included a year studying political sciences at the Università di Cagliari in Sardinia, and is fluent in Italian.

David joined Hollyport in July 2016 as an Associate in the Investment Appraisal team.

Prior to joining Hollyport David worked in the M&A division of Commerzbank, based in London and Frankfurt, where he was involved in large-cap and cross-border transactions. Before this he also worked at Fieldstone Private Capital Group and SMA Solar Technology AG.

David holds an MSc in Finance from University of Muenster and is a native German. During his studies he was awarded a scholarship for a six-month exchange programme in Budapest.

Sandro joined Hollyport in August 2017 as an Associate in the Investment Appraisal team.

Prior to joining Hollyport, Sandro was an Associate in the M&A advisory practice at Duff & Phelps in London. He provided transaction execution and analytical support on European and Transatlantic deals. Prior to this Sandro worked for seven years at UBS in Zurich in securities trading and private banking.

Sandro graduated from Cass Business School in London, receiving a Master of Science in Corporate Finance with distinction, and has served as an infantry officer in the Swiss Armed Forces. Sandro is fluent in French, German and Swiss German.

Richard joined Hollyport in January 2015 as an Associate in the investment appraisal team.

Richard began his career in the Banking and Capital Markets audit and assurance department at PwC, where he qualified as an ACA. Subsequently, Richard joined the Transaction Services department at PwC, focused on Financial Services transactions. He advised both private equity and corporate clients on a number of transactions.

Richard graduated from Newcastle University with a 1st Class Honours in BA Business, Accounting and Finance (a collaboration between PwC, Newcastle University and the ICAEW). His degree included three, four month work placements at PwC.

Seamus joined Hollyport in August 2016 as an Associate in the Investment Appraisal team.

Prior to joining Hollyport, Seamus was at EY where he was initially a member of the Transaction Services department before subsequently moving to the Restructuring team, with a specific focus on Financial Services. He advised on a number of local and cross-border M&A transactions and restructurings for both corporate and private equity clients.

Seamus is CIMA qualified, holds a degree in Modern Languages from Durham University and speaks fluent French and Spanish.

Gianfilippo Aldegheri

Gianfilippo joined Hollyport in July 2017 as an Analyst in the Investment Appraisal team.

Prior to joining Hollyport, Gianfilippo was employed in the equity research team at Arrowgrass Capital Partners in London covering TMT firms. Gianfilippo also has experience in M&A, working at Societe Generale and Credit Suisse in the TMT and FIG teams respectively.

Gianfilippo holds a Masters degree in Financial Economics from HEC Paris and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Management from the University of Trento. Gianfilippo is fluent in Italian.
